Re:Marks Stamp COMPONENTS
Interchangeable Die Plates
The thing that makes Re:Marks stamps so special is the fact the the die plates are interchangeable. Yep, you heard that right. You can interchange the stamp design with endless others! Simply push up the stamp, lock it in place (see "Black Locking Buttons") and squeeze the red buttons on the die plate to pull it off the mount. Then you can snap another Re:Marks die plate in to replace the previous one. Push up the bottom of the mount again to unlock. Replace again and again for endless stamping opportunities!
Black Locking Buttons
The black buttons on each side of the Re:Marks mount lock the stamp in place in two different positions. First, slightly push up the bottom of the stamp and push in the black buttons. The ink pad and die plate will separate just enough to conveniently slide out the ink pad without it rubbing against the die plate. This is also a good position to leave your stamp in so as to not have the die plate indent the ink pad. Second, push the bottom of the stamp all the way up and push in the buttons again. This will lock the stamp all the way up so you can take out or put in die plates (as seen on the left).
Double-Sided Ink Pad
A Re:Marks stamp is self-inking, which means it automatically re-inks itself into a rotating, self-contained ink pad before each impression. In addition, Re:Marks stamps feature an exclusive U.S.-patented double-sided ink pad from ExcelMark. When one side of the ink pad starts fading, simply push it out, flip it over and reinsert for double the stamping power. Note: Before pushing out the ink pad, remember to first either remove the die plate OR push the bottom of the mount up slightly to lock it in position #1. This will help provide a smooth operation every time!
Different Mount Sizes
There are two different sized Re:Marks stamp mounts: a square mount with square 1.625" x 1.625" die plates (the size found in both Re:Marks Gift Boxes) and a rectangular mount with rectangular 1.24" x 2.375" die plates. Both mounts have the same components, die plate interchangeability and function -- the only different is the the shape and size. Keep in mind that while purchasing additional die plates, be sure to choose the die plate size that fits your particular mount. The square die plates won't fit in the rectangular mount and vice versa!
Clean Die Plates
Re:Marks by ExcelMark Die Plate Cleaning Solution makes keeping your stamps in tip-top shape so easy. First, take the die plate off of the mount (see "Interchangeable Die Plates"). Put a few sprays of the cleaning solution onto a paper towel and wipe the ink off of the die plate. If there is stubborn ink, spray directly on the die plate and then wipe with the paper towel. Be sure to clean the die plate after each use, especially when switching between ink pad colors. Always clean die plates before storage. Click here for more information on rubber stamp care.
Store Stamp & Supplies
Not only is cleaning your die plates important in prolonging the life of your stamp, but the way you store your product is just as important. To keep the ink pad fresh, never store the stamp with the die plate pressed up against it. Doing so will leave indentations on the ink pad and cause impression imperfections when you switch out designs. Either slightly lift the bottom of the mount up and lock it in place so that the pad and plate are separated OR just take the die plate out completely. Store the clean die plates flat or upright in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, like the Re:Marks magnetic-close storage box.

Re-Ink the Ink Pad
If you've already used both sides of the reversible ink pad, then you just have to re-ink the pad. Self-inking stamps work best with a water-based ink. Simply add a few drops to the ink pad and then use the tip of the bottle to evenly spread the ink. Let the ink settle for a couple of minutes before putting the pad back into the stamp. After this, your stamp is good to go! You can check out ExcelMark self-inking refill ink bottles here.
