DIY Stamped Tea Towels

If you're looking for something a little artsy to do for autumn, but you aren't exactly an expert crafter, these leaf DIY stamped tea towels will be right up your alley.

They take a matter of minutes to complete, so they're an easy activity to do with the kids. Plus, in the end, you'll have a stylish kitchen accent or a thoughtful handmade gift for birthdays, housewarmings, the holidays, weddings and more.

But, what we really love about this project is that it works well all year long just by switching out different rubber stamps for a change in pattern. Plus, you can make it even more personable with a custom stamp!

Supplies:

Instructions:

1. Pre-wash and dry the tea towel. Place it down flat with a piece of cardboard underneath to protect your tabletop surface.

2. Spread a layer of fabric paint onto the stamp with a brush or sponge, making sure all of the rubber is covered. We used Tulip® Soft® Fabric Paint, which dries soft for more flexibility and is machine washable.

3. Stamp onto the towel using firm pressure.

4. Add as many different impressions and/or paint colors as you wish until you're satisfied with the pattern. Allow your stamped tea towels to dry flat for at least four hours.

The Tulip® brand of fabric paint requires 72 hours of wait time before washing is allowed, but be sure to check your specific brand's instructions.

This project is interchangeable with variety of textile items -- try stamping on aprons, t-shirts, bags, scarves and more. The options are endless!
