How to Make a Petal Envelope

Feeling lonely during social distancing? Well, you aren't the only one! Doing easy crafts such as making a petal envelope will bring out your creative side while keeping your mind occupied.

Step 1: Gather Materials

Step 2: Trace & Cut Circles

Grab your first piece of paper and draw two 4" circles. Repeat on your other desired piece of paper. Then, for the easy part, cut the circles out on the line that you traced! This will leave you with four circles of the same size.

Step 3: Fold Circles

Take each circle, fold it in half and then unfold it. That's it!

Step 4: Put It Together & Glue

Start by putting all of the circles together so that the fold lines form the outline of a square. Pull the flap of each circle, and tuck it behind the one before it. As you do this, make sure to glue the flaps down so that the circles stay together.

Step 5: Close Your Envelope

To finish your envelope, fold your circles on the lines that you created earlier. Then carefully tuck each half circle below the half circle to the left. This will create a pinwheel effect.

Step 6: Time To Decorate

It is time to let your creative side run wild! For our envelope, we first decided to use the Messenger Bird Stamp (also part of the Happy Mail Stamp Set) to create a cute little decoration in the center. In order to add a rustic look, we also included a small bow tie of regular yarn and laced it through the piece of paper that the stamp was on.

Congratulations, you are done! The amount of envelopes that you can make for your family and friends are endless. Feel free to go through these steps again with different types of paper and designs or embellishments.
