Choose Your Stamp Mount
RubberStamps.com offers a variety of stamp mount types, including self-inking, pre-inked, engraved wood, traditional and clear. Choose your desired style and size and click “Personalize.”
Once on the customizing page, click the image icon and then “ADD NEW GRAPHIC.” Browse for the stamp design you downloaded.
Add the graphic and adjust it to where you want. Then add it to your cart!
Step 2: Stamp Your Design.
Put your new stamp to use! Stamp an impression in the ink color of your choice on plain construction paper.
Step 3: Back it with Patterned Paper.
Cut out the impression and use some adhesive to back it with colorful scrapbooking paper.
Then decide if you want to make a folded card or notecard.
Foam adhesive circles are a great way to add some dimension to your announcement.
Step 4: Make a Matching Envelope.
Another bonus of making your own card is that you can make a matching envelope. This Envelope Template Kit from Paper Source is a handy tool to have in your crafting arsenal.
Trace
First, trace the size of the envelope you need for your handmade card with a template. We used the same purple paper that was used for part of the card.
Score, Cut and Fold
Score the paper in the slots on the envelope template, then cut out your tracing. Fold the envelope on the scored lines.
Glue
Adhere the edges of the side and bottom flaps together (we used a tape runner), taking extra care not to get any stickiness on the inside of the envelope.
Tip: Once you’re completely finished with your card and ready to send it, you can close the envelope using a tape runner, a sticker or some washi tape.
Step 5: Utilize an Address Stamp.
Address stamps are great to have for putting on the envelope or the card itself. They’ll help save you time and prevent a hand cramp from writing out the same thing multiple times. The We’ve Moved Address Stamp gets the message across clearly and in style!
Step 6: Decorate the Envelope.
After taking the time to decorate your moving announcement, you’ll want to make a great first impression with a stunning envelope as well. RubberStamps.com’s Happy Mail Cling Stamp Set offers a variety of designs to spruce up any snail mail you send.
Making DIY moving announcements with rubber stamps as compared to printing can save you money and guarantee that you’ll have a one-of-a-kind look!
